I find false colors [render / color management tab] too similar for my eyes - is there a way to modify them?
It’s not something that you can configure, maybe it’s possible to fiddle with the OCIO config but I don’t think it’s going to be easy…
Maybe it’s possible to make your own false color using the compositor…
Anyway, while it’s true that they are similar , is it really an issue in practice ? It’s easy to tell if the gradient is leaning toward warm or cold color…
A well balanced image is going to have bits of blue and orange in it, you just want to avoid that on your subject most of the time…
Might be difficult for a colorblind person.
Well ! Ok it’s hard for me to say otherwise, but at the end of the day, is it really how we should use those false colors ?
You’re supposed to know how the light works in the scene, false color is just about setting the right exposure and contrast.
Basically you might want to have your subject in that gray area, even if you can’t make the difference between both green, it should be possible to tell by increasing or reducing exposure in which direction you’re going…
Also even if you can’t make the difference between red or blue, you should still get a feeling that a saturated area means close to over or under exposure, normally you should be able to tell which is which if you know what is your lighting setup…
But I might be missing something, I don’t use that a lot to be honest but I should ![]()
