- The nightmares are maybe not getting into your dreams anymore, but they’re always making new plans. - Laehotloobxaeg wich means Meadow of Truth
This is the day I’ve been waiting for!
I’m going to translate my fantasy into 3D!
Everything made by myself!
WIP Renders: Location: Qara Planet: Grandony
Location: The Factory Planet: Alenz
Location: Space Planet: Esma
Location: Space Planet: Alenz
Location: Space Planet: Alenz, The Dome
These are some of the first renders!
And here is an self-made texture:
Colormap
Bumpmap
Specularmap
512x512
It isn’t used yet but it’s a prove i’m going to do them all by myself!
Known Characters:
Christiaan(me)
Lili
Eddy
(Bork has been removed, he will probable not appear in the movie)
Martin Bakker(my little brother)
Lara Dyte
K-Jay
BeatBoy
Carl Zero
Gazelle
Other characters might have no name yet or aren’t in the movie!
Congrats on the fulfillment of your dream. Looks like you can do the job, too.
Now a constructive crit if I may. Specifically, an observation on your planets as seen from space. The shimmering (lava) lines are the result of a texture created by noise functions (possibly Blender’s), and they get the job done, but you may want to take them to the next level.
Natural phenomena operate at different scales (planets have orbits, atoms have orbits; twigs in a fern branch looks like a smaller version of the whole thing; a river branches into smaller arms, which also have branches). And they almost never work in a uniform way, specially over complicated subjects such as planets.
There are many forces at work here – tectonics, vulcanism, wheather, coriolis – you name’em (no, really, see a satellite photo. Glaciers, rivers and earthquakes each have recognizable effects on the landscape). So a single fractal or noise formula doesn’t really do an accurate job of representing a planet; you may want to add a few layers of detail, and possibly using different kinds of warped or masked texture channels.
So play with different noise generators. Musgrave, Voronoi and Distorted Noise can generate less uniform textures. A few (like Musgrave) are supposedly conceived to work on multiple scales (“octaves”) at once by themselves, but it’s more than likely that you’ll need a few extra layers on top of these too.
thanks for the tip CubOfJudahsLion!
But actually the lava on Alenz wasn’t the real lava yet. I’m going to make the real lava. And at The Dome,Alenz there isn’t anything to see yet because that place is in high WIP. Why? That’s the place where I live! I’m going to make a render of The Dome viewed from top and then paste the render onto The Dome in the Intro scene.
Thanks for the orbits information, I’ve never thought about that. I’ll sort it out.
Here is an update for the Factory at The Dome. Added some fence and upgraded the floor texture where the nails are in(I’ll render a close up of the nails soon!). The new floor texture needs mutch work, but I’ll post a new render very soon!
Enjoy the reflection on the iron poles!
I’m using the CVS because I like the Node Editor more then the Glow effect in the sequence editor. I’ve used Blur to create the Glow effect also in The Factory, everywhere! Blur is easier to control.
I hope I gave the right information
Else please post an image with a red line(or any other color) that shows the area wich you mean.
I’m busy with many parts of the movie now, also inside The Dome:
Where the two trees are standing the forest will come, you can already see Anorama(lake/sea). Outside the image are a few mountains where a castle be placed, also you see a channel coming from the sea and located somewhere at that channel or some channels coming from it(not in render yet) will be my farm/home.
woooooooooooooooooooooow!!! Oh maaan??? okay… How did you make that? How did you make that kind of blur in the bacground??? uuuh… I looks so good for an animatet movie!!
This is a new soundtrack for the movie. The Land of Chram what is that!?
I’ll tell you, better said Meadow will do:
Meadow is most times speaking in riddles but I think this is pretty understandable. Because I’m also not going to tell everything. It should stay a suprise. A big fantastic suprise! High quality environments, models etc…
