Hey how can i decrease the rendertime in animations?
I need now 4 minutes with 1000 samples for one frame in 720p.
It is a Room with 2 complete open walls, i use lightportals, HDRI+Arealamp for light,
just 2 bounces, clamp at 1, no caustics, filter glossy 1 and some AO.
I take it you want to decrease the render time?
Unfortunately you told us nothing about your system specs, so there’s no way of telling if those render times are reasonable or hinting at a render setup issue…
4 minutes for a single frame is already quite good. You have already done so much to reduce render times anyway. You could try simplifying any meshes you may have, remove unnecessary objects or disable filter glossy since there is no need for that with caustics disabled.
I have a GTX 1080,32GB RAM, Xeon 1230V3. I can life with 4 minutes but it’s really annoying for a 30 seconds animation.
Hi, I guess you use GPU for render, did you set tiles to at least 256x256?
Best is to get 2 or 4 tiles at GPU, also AO need some time check it.
Cheers, mib
Tiles are 640x360. I thought AO would reduce the rendetime.
Nope, it actually intoduces more samples to be calculated.
It can help rendertimes if you use it to fake GI and skip the indirect bounces. Oldd school trick though.
