i am not mean to newbies (i am a newbie myself so it would all seem stupid to be rude to myself?! ) - i posted it with smilies and and didnât use harsh words and basically wanted to say exactly what ataryu just said. Go put more effort into it before posting it. People get just as mad when someone posts a question in the questions forum of something so basic that has been repeated tima and time again instead of just using the search feature.
I will re-iterate what Iâve said countless times before:
There is a big difference between âconstructive criticismâ and âbeing meanâ (even with smilies and preemptive warnings) - every artist coming to ask for c&c starts at a vulnerble point, so telling him to screw the hell out and rtfm will not help him. In this example we see this is the at least second work of the poster (he says this is his first scene with more than one object), so if you want to be that way, your argument is false anyway (yes, I too think the third millenium started at 2001).
Anyway, good beginning, I suggest youâll buy the blender book, its not that expensive and you will learn more from that book than in days of searching the web.
I guess this thread has got a little out of hand. Princeâs comments were a bit too harsh, yes, but he has accepted it and has said (and I quote): âdrop itâ. And I think we should do just that - we are all intelligent people here, and we need to learn to compromise with different views. Constant friction from two arguing sides is resulting in nobody going anywhere - a STALEMATE. Even the creator of the âFat Monkeyâ has said he doesnât care, so we can now leave this alone and help the guy out.
By the way, when Apothil said that he doesnât care what we think, I donât think he meant that he doesnât care about the constructive comments, but he doesnât care about your views on this situation, as he really doesnât seem to be bothered (or that affected) by it!
I feel that if you want to learn Blender faster, have a look at the tutorials section here, and you can also join the deviantART Blender community, where I am the admin. We welcome noobs, and are posting tutorials etc regularly :). I think the link is in my signature. Read the journal entry on the community front page to find out more.
