Feature Film Project: Gooseberry

I’ve just read this news:

What do you think?

neat with cooperation instead of hauling everybody to holland

I don’t really know what to expect, but I know it will be interesting.

IMO this also explains why Mango is going to also be a collaboration (If I recall correctly), as practice for Gooseberry? Maybe.

Production time is expected to be around 2 years? This is getting more and more serious.

This means in three years Blender will have a nice internal motion tracker and hopefully more and improved composition and video editing tools. Great!

I wonder if it will be cartoony or photo-realistic/live actiony. Sounds very ambitious. It suppose it will need much a whole lot more funding than durian. Sounds exciting for sure.

Very exciting news indeed. Im glad Ton is stepping up, and it feels like the logical next project to have a good stab at.

Im also hoping that perhaps a smaller Blender Foundation ‘side project’ could be started in the next few years as well, another game related one. Ill keep my fingers crossed anyway

Well, if the timing goes well this will be a 2-3 years effort which means that the full-length would be as good as a short film (concerning improvements for the software).

AD-Edge: I’d also favor having smaller projects in-between to advertise Blender as an all-in-one tool for small startups. Like getting 4-5 people together and work out a small game or very short film.

VERY interesting…
