It would be nice to be able to mirror the 3d view while drawing to check for mistakes. It would be extra nice if drawing / editing could be done in the flipped view just like in a 2D program.
I don’t know if I understand correctly, but to see the back of the views, you just need ctrl + numpad key of views …
but maybe I understand … you refer to the “back” of custom views
No, he means being able to horizontally flip the current viewport image. This is a popular workflow for illustrators as far as I can tell because it helps them to have a more objective view of their drawing. It’s actually not a bad suggestion.
now I get it
you should make a descriptive proposal here
As far as I can tell, the OP means flipping the image to check for skewing mistakes, and probably while drawing in grease pencil mode.
Mirroring is the option to mirror one or more sides for symmetrical drawing.
If the OP is talking about an option to flip the viewport view of a grease pencil drawing: this is already possible. Just use ctrl-numpad key of the view that is being worked in.
Although it would be good for the OP to explain a bit more in detail which mode he is working in (grease pencil mode in 2d animation mode? Or texture paint mode?) , and whether he means mirroring or flipping.
For grease pencil press tab into edit mode , a for select all, s x -1 . Don’t try this for sculpting or your brushes will work weird. I agree this should be implemented as well as a rotate canvas manipulator.
Sorry I lost track of this post for a while. Yes I meant, drawing with grease pencil. The thing is, looking from the opposite side with ctrl+Numpad key is not possible for the camera view. I can scale the camera by -1 in x axis to flip. That works but its not as easy as a button press.
And thankyou Amon Paike. I have made a post at Right click select.
