I’ve been practicing rendering in Blender and I’d love to get some constructive feedback from you more experienced artists. My main goal right now is to achieve a more realistic look in my scenes, but I’m not sure what areas I should focus on improving.
Any tips, big or small, would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to give me feedback!
It looks really good in my opinion, I just share my personal idea if I wanted to make same scene:
For the woods:
a bit of sss
more reflection
higher texture resolution for the chairs
For the paint materials (cabinets, heater, window frames, etc)
fresnel colorful coating
bit of roughness imprefection
very low amount of big scale noise on the bump
adding AO for the window frames for more accent
shinier metals
For the glass:
deeper glass with dispersion for the bolb
if possible shader-plus addon is extremely helpful
for all kinds of glass
totally avoiding generic or monotone materials
especially for the big surfaces. blenderkit shaders
are very good to save time in this case.
For the models:
symmetrical curtain for the left side
(you can also cover all the windows with curtains)
Lighting looks really good, maybe just achieving
higher contrast for such scenes with HDRI or 2
sun method lighting.
Adding real tree objects or gobos can also be very
helpful.
Using curves in the color management or compositor
to achieve more archviz-style look.
Those are the things came to my mind but still your
scene looks very good in my opinion. You can also
use LUTs in post production in addition to camera
raw filter effect to improve the image.
