Female Character Eyelashes

I’m having some issue with the eyelashes NOT looking right especially during the render (center image). Is there anything I can do to improve the look of the eyelashes?

I could use some guidance… Thanks

Make sure to UN-Wrap these meshes…then I would add the lash in paint mode or gimp etc…make sure to reverse and make an alpha mask…(Black background w/ white lashes)…when adding the texture between the Diffuse add a Mix Shader node …Diffuse on the bottom and Transparent node on top…use the Alpha Mask you made and plug-in to the Factor…Like this…

I understand you are making a different type of character, but to fit your character make the alpha image more stylized…a little thicker and perhaps arrow-shaped.

Thanks for the response. Just so I understand, I should keep the existing eyelash model and alter the texture similar to your explanation above? The eyelash model is only single sided, should I be using the solidify modifier to make it double sided?

Thanks Again

I’d try hair particles as this looks like a visor.

Hello, i would suggest to only to the top lid. That looks better for that type of character because the lower lid has usually a only some hair.

Have a look at this channel to see what i mean: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfjswDVU0XHyBN7UFG0Mi5Q

No, I would keep the eyelash mesh as it is. Once you use the Alpha Mask it won’t matter.
Using a solidify modifier is really a waste, and will probably look worse unless you decide to make them a solid textured mesh.

PS: That’s not a solidify modifier you see, it is a duplicated mesh to give more natural-looking lashes…not needed on your stylized model.
