i think its great, thats why you could be my first car tutorial writer on my site and post a pic and or blend of your wips then put a link to that on my site so they stop complaing about renders,i dont know why theyre making a deal out of it either ,im just offering a solution…

if you do just put in tutorial shop under blender ,ill create a wip forum in a couple of days

awesome project!! the model looks very good.
I hope you make a good rendering!! Do your best…

im a big n00b at car modelling, but i was wondering if you already had some thoughts about the platework and the door. Do you already have to loopcuts for them? Cuz I always mess everything up when i try to seperate the door and the hood from the body.

Its been a very long time since i played with this model…but ive started on it again

i think im pretty much done, just got to tweak the back a little bit (hardest thing i ever modeled…the back of this car). setting up a scene now for it to be rendered in, aint decided wether i should use yafray or blender for this one, maybe ill try sunflower or something like that…anyway!
here are some renders and screens!

Pretty nice man. Couple things that caught my attention though.

Marked your image up a bit, hope you don’t mind.

1: this part of the car looks a bit crooked/uneven. I’d straighten it out a bit.

2: Looks like the mesh got bunched when you cut the hole for that light. I would most definetly work on that a bit more.

3: Small dent/mesh error maybe?

Overall, pretty nice work. And I’d use Yafray to render, as it has better reflections then blender internal, and is also not as slow as sunflow or indigo.

wow great modeeling
you can host at http://www.myspace.com

::another update::

ive been thinking of just scrapping this mesh. the back is really really bad compared to the front, i didnt think this mesh topogly through when i was modeling. ive tried to adjust some of the things, but seems that i will more than likely need to redo the whole back end, which i havent got time for at the minute.

maniac4hire: thanks for pointing out those problems, i was aware the of the back lights, there really pssng me off, i dont know why they are bulging out like that, and the side part sticks right out but in edit mode it seems reasonably flat :S . the part that is going up along side the window whole is ok, from top and side view it follows the blueprins exactly, maybe just that angle, ill check it out!

here is some more renders
(i used jimmac’s render settings, hope ya dont mind)

still not perfect, but getting there :stuck_out_tongue: lol

Looking good, looking good, but (correct me if Im wrong) I think that all cars that have the “spider” extension have no roof, they are all cabriolet stylish…

…and your car does have roof  (like it matters anyway)

lol your right. im sure the blueprins said spider some where in the title. guess i should change the title of the thread.

im still working on the back but what do you’s think, any better?

Yeah, much better!
I think that the rear end looks alright  but those panels ,or whatever they are, near the window, should be seperate from the main body, as you can see if you look some 430 rear pics…

the line that seperates the trunk from the body is also missing, I think…

but heck, damn good job, keep it up and it’ll be sweet

hey all
another little update
added the cuts and seperated the panels on the side of the window…once i get the mesh sorted ill start on the grills and other things also thinking of making an interior with an engine :stuck_out_tongue:

there will be an animation coming aswell since i promissed my boss i would make one :stuck_out_tongue:
