Fiat Argenta 2.0 TC -85

Hi!

This is my second try in car modeling as my first was Lancia Delta which I posted here.
http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?287893-Lancia-Delta-Integrale-Evoluzione&highlight=

I wanted to model something a bit more rare without choosing some super car. So I picked Fiat Argenta from year 1985. My parents owned two of these (gold and silver) and my brother had three and owns one as a hobby car right now. I guess I have good memories about this car (and a good selection of preference images).

Anyway. Here’s what I have done so far:

Hope you like it!

That’s a great start! I foresee this will be a great model.

Thanks! More pics are on their way.

First render/material test!

It’s coming together nicely.

Very nice texturing !!!, i like +++

Wooooow!! That’s looking so darn great! I’m working on a Porsche 928, and has similar headlight glass texture, and I have no idea how to do it. Would it be much of a problem to explain it, even if basically?

Nice work. keep going!

Thanks!
For the headlight I extruded it to have thickness. Then I applied headlight texture on the mesh (Google is your friend) and used it as a bump map (with the texturing). And don’t forget to model the interior of the headlights! For your Porsche some simple chrome dome would do the job.

Little update.

Getting there!
Too many straight (chrome lists) lines…

Ok. The rims are about done! Next some tires.

Well here’s the whole wheel. Different tire sidewall would work better but anyway…

Here’s the first full render. The car is missing windshield wipers and a lot stuff from the back but it’s getting there!
This is only 400 samples. The final render is going to be 1000 samples so a lot of noise is getting rid off.
CPU rendering…bah! So how’s the composition?

edit. hmm…It seems that my car is floating a bit. haha

Holy crap, that looks seriously sweet! Absolutely love the headlights, they look quite realistic. I’m guessing these are Cycles renders?
The detail on the rims and tyres is also quite mind-blowing.

Overall it’s looking great, can’t spot anything off about the model’s surface or anything

EDIT - Well, other than the fact that the car is floating, but you’ve already noticed that

Great indeed! Remember that I’ve no problem with rendering other files, although my GPU is not precisely the fastest, but still much faster than CPU. Just one thingy, are the blinker glass and the other one above it supposed to be so opaque? Other than that, awesome detail.

Thanks guys! The next update is coming soon.

Thanks. I think I’ll manage with the final render. Just have to leave it render over night.

The modeling is almost done. Simple seat models and some things from the back are missing, but otherwise the model is complete. Here’s render with 2500 samples. Maybe a bit overkill, but I let it render over night. Took “only” 5 and a half hours with Intel i5.

Looks simply amazing  Nothing stands out to me, in terms of needed tweaks or model pinching or anything…

Yeah, can’t tell anything wrong either. Only perhaps I don’t really like how the side highlight begins, but it’s not like I know how to fix it, or that it’s wrong.
