OK!! I know this script kicks ass but as far as I see none want’s to notice that a lot of people has many problems with making it work.
There is a couple of common errors that you can get after running script.
First is something like:
RibSting’s fiber generator running…
expected 0 faces.
Mesh exists
PYTHON SCRIPT ERROR:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “Fiber”, line 499, in ?
TypeError: argument 1: expected NMesh, None found
Ripsting’s Fiber generator running …
expected 784 faces .
Mesh exists
PYTHON SCRIPT ERROR :
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “Fiber1.2.py”, line 430, in ?
AttributeError: ‘None’ object has no attribute ‘verts’
Or a situation, when everything seems to be all right but no fibers are beeing generated
Anyone can answer how fix that problems?
Oh - and BTW. When I’m running .blend file provided with fiber12.zip it’s working fine with that plane mesh, but no other mesh is working with it. It gets me confused :o
I’m no expert but when I played with it I found that:
If you get the Mesh Exists message, change the density a bit, i think it means it’s trying to apply the effect to a mesh that already has it. Changing parameters kind of resets that.
If you get the other error (forgot what it was) try increasing the density by quite a bit. I think this is mentioned elsewhere and is to do with Blender’s size units and number of faces on the mesh.
When everything seems to run OK, but nothing’s generated it’s simply because the density is set too low.
If you’re getting either of the two errors, make sure you’re running Blender 2.23. I tried it on 2.22 and it didn’t work, but with 2.23 on the same machine it did. Also re-download the script off the web- it could be that I’ve updated some code since you downloaded it.
I hope we can get these errors cleared up. I’m going to go over my logic again to see if I can’t make it more stable.
Glad it works now! That picture rocks, but the grass seems pretty huge compared to the trees. If grass gets that big it’s usually a golden color. Keep messing around with it! I love to see my script being put to use!
