When exporting, instead of opening the file browser in the main 3d window, it opens in the window which the mouse is hovering over. So if I choose something from far down in the list, the file browser will open in the buttons window. This is annoying. How to fix?
That’s not a bug, dude! I love that feature! In blender, you just hover over the area that you want to work in without having to click. This way, you can, for example, hover over a value and press ctrl+C to copy that value without clicking in the field. Then you can hover over another field in a different window and hit ctrl+V to paste.
Anyway, maybe you’ll start to like the feature too.
I’m not saying it’s a bug, I just want it back to the way it is with a clean scene. (In a new one, it’s the main window that gets the file browser.)
edit:
removing the view to the right seemed to fix it. I got interested and tried some more. Seems like it decides what window to use based on size, among other things. Sometimes it’s the cursor that decides, sometimes not. I don’t like inconsistency.
edit:
yeah, definitely size of the views and cursor that decide which view to use.
