I’m about to learn me Blender but don’t understand how I can browse and save files on other computers on my local area network. The file browser only seems to list files/folders on the local computer…
I have tried to use the adress that the system seems to use; looks like this “\TheOtherComputer” but it doesn’t work…
You did not state what OS you are using. There have been a few other threads on this subject of late. Blender can only see drives that are Mapped (Windows) or Mounted (Linux) locally.
No Mapped means a mapped drive. In Windows, you can assign a drive letter to any driver be it a local drive or a network share. If you open the Computer widow in Vista there should be a Map Network Drive option in the tool bar. Click it and choose the Drive letter and network path (UNC) for the share you want to connect to. In XP it is an option on the Tool menu when you open My Computer.
