File Organization--New to Blender and want to learn how to ogranize files

Hello,
I am thrilled to become a part of the Blender Community. Have worked with video production for years and know the value of starting out with a well organized file system from the get-go and have a few questions connected to file organization.

  1. I am not seeing information on the best way to organize file folders and where to save things with Blender so that various resources are easy to access over time when working on numerous projects at once. ,

  2. Also wondering how to work with the “file” list of links in the Preferences section and could use some help.

  3. Also noting that when installing Blender, it set up some files in the “Documents” folder on the “C” drive. I like to keep programs on the C drive, do all the work and saving of files on the D drive, and do all rendering on the E drive. How do I work with Blender to assure it writes to the correct drives and not what appears to be the default area on the C drive?
I am using Blender 2.76b. Could someone explain these things or direct me to someone/somewhere who can? That would be very much appreciated.

See https://www.blender.org/manual/preferences/file.htmlYou can set the render output location for animations in the render / output panel

You can add bookmark file locations in the file browser window

Blender does not set up a series of file directories for you. You decide how best you want to manage your files. How you want to manage your own files is most likely different to how I want to manage my files. Just do what you feel happy with
