Filesize breakdown of .blend?

Is there any possible way to see the breakdown of a .blend file, to see how much HD space each type of data (eg. objects…materials.) takes up?

I need to start cleaning this one up. It used to save reaaallly slow… so I started using a ramdisk and that solved the problem. But now the issue is that Undo takes a long time while in pose or object mode. In any other mode it’s instant.

Normally the solution here would be to create a new .blend and ‘link’ to the main one, but I can’t since I constantly am modifying the original data.

PS. I have no images packed.

did you try to save as the file and in panel select compress
see the new file size and if it helps ?

apart of that you did not give much to work with!
how many verts, objects , midifier do you have ?

can you use group instancing ?
