Fill up your portfolio with ease!

Salutations gentleman,
Do you want to fill up your portfolio with eye-catching yet easy models? Are you interested in making models which can be the key drivers to fascinate hirers?
If your answers are yes then you have come to the right place, for I am looking for a modeler who can make the humble Pokémon models. Pokémons are loved worldwide and consume really half the time required to make other models. You can be sure to get many people interested in you just by these cute little creatures. Give me some couple of minutes and I will briefly describe you what benefits you will be getting in the next few weeks if you work with me.

Little about myself - My name is David parker, a citizen of New York. I am a skilled programmer, working in the gaming industry since the last 5 years. I am already having tones of experience and can prove to be a worthy companion.

I am now determined to make a 3D Pokémon game with its deviating features. The details of the game aren’t publically announced but I won’t mind sharing some if you ask for. The coding part is almost done and now I wanted to get hold of a bunch of Pokémon models. Although there is no monetary reward planned at the moment, I can give you the royalties or profit share, which ever you like. I assume the models are quite simple and you would enjoy making them. This is a great opportunity to upgrade your resume/portfolio with least effort. It is believed that the most important aspect in an artist’s impression is his portfolio. What more can an artist require that dozens of cute pokemons filing up and making his portfolio beautiful?
Let me know what you think of this offer and if there can be some talks we can have. I can be reached at my mail id – [email protected].

Looking for a lively talk with you. Thanks for your prestigious time.

Have a nice day!

Regards,
David Parker

I am confused as to why you mention portfolios so often. Yeah, it’s great to have good stuff on your port folio, but I feel like you would rather say “I spent a week modeling an insanely amazing car” then “I spent a week modeling “cute little creatures””
Basically you should stop emphasizing the idea of portfolios so often. Also, let me just. Analyze some of your “points”.
“and consume really half the time requires to make other models.” I don’t think that makes sense. Considering that you are a programmer, and not a modeler, you should not suggest what takes a long time and what doesn’t. Making a detailed modern building can be easier than making… let’s say Squirtle. What suggests that Pokemon modeling is vastly easier than other larger projects?

“You can be sure to get many people interested in you by just these cute little creatures”
Nobody is on their edge of their seat thinking, ‘Oh man. I sure do want to model for this guy, because it has cute little creatures!’.

“I am already having tones of experience and can prove to be a worthy companion.”
Considering that this is your 6th “looking for help thread”, I should not have to mention this. Do not say “I can prove it to you…” instead, just prove it. Put some links up of your past work or collaborations.

“I am now determined to make a 3D Pokemon game…”
Hate to tell you, but you are also determined to ask other people for help. You are basically done with your part, yes? So, maybe next time you code an entire game, get modelers before you get insane progress, so that you know that your game will not die… as easily…

“The details of the game aren’t publiclly announced”
Why not? Should the people you are so determined to ask for help, know what the game is about? There is little to no threat for somebody to “exploit” your game info… Give the people info on what you have done, and what you need.

“I wanted to get hold of a bunch of Pokemon models”
How many? Which ones? Please be more descriptive in what you need. There is less of an incentive for people to get interested, if you say so little about this game.

“I assume the models are quite simple and you would enjoy making them.”
Don’t assume. Depending on how many models you need, which you don’t tell, it may be “simple” and "enjoy"able for the first few, but maybe the 10th or 20th it gets boring. And maybe the project drags on too much, and you just don’t have the time. Who the hell knows? We don’t because you don’t tell us anything!

“I can give you royalties or profit share…”
How much? What is your range that you can pay? People won’t want to help unless you give numbers. If it turns out that you are a profit hog, and want a constant 95%… then nobody will join. But we don’t know…

“This is a great opportunity to upgrade your resume/portfolio with least effort”
Again. I feel like a modeler would rather have made a very complex and impressive car, as opposed to a bunch of “simple” “cute little creatures”. Think about it. If you were looking at a portfolio, would you rather hire somebody that says “I made a real complex 1957 Corvette” or one that says “I made 10 pokemon figures.”.

“What more can an artist require that dozens of cute pokemons filling up and making his portfolio beautiful?”
Anybody that is trying to get a job out of the cute creatures industry.

This is just my thought on this… I may be in the wrong, I may be in the right. Who knows. After all, I do not model.

I agree with the above post. Also what about the licensing for the game? is that all worked out?
More details about the models are necessary for anyone who might want to do it. Otherwise you will get stuck with whatever they come up with, if anything at all.

Taking a step back I have a very real solution. A good 3d artist does not want to spend time making models for a project that will never see the light of day. So here is a way to get them fighting to be the one to help you with your project. Simply make your game with Block place holder for the graphics. Once the game is well on its way then you can get an artist to step in and add the graphic to your alpha game.
Best of luck

So… you are a programmer?
what’s your engine?
