Filling Faces in bezier curves.

I have been trying to do a blender noob to pro tuotorial about blender 2d image logo into a 3d logo: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:Noob_to_Pro/2D_Image(logo)_to_a_3D_Model
. The problem is that the faces cannot be filled. I have tried experimenting with the front and back buttons but there is no change. The “C” key doesn’t help either. What have i been doing wrong? I did the same tutorial over and over again but no luck. Please help. Thank you. :frowning:

faces can be added only if you are in 2D not 3D and you need a close figure!

can you show a picture of your mesh i edit mode

are you trying to do the lightning bolt here ?

did you hit the ront and back button ?

can you try to upload the file i’l look at it

but this should work well

salutations

yes. I’m trying to make that lightning bolt but its still see through. So i decided to make something else out of curves but all has the same problem. I use Blender 2.49. I have hit the front and back buttons. you can see by zooming in.

did it in less then 1 minutes

after adding a bezier curve in viewport

you are asked to change the type of curve to poly curve and then you follow the countour and for the last segment you simply select the 2 points and hit C
this will close the curve

and then you an add some extrude to make it thicker
