Hi everyone
Let me present you my current project, Batavica: Legend of Garuda, a series of animation shorts created using Blender (and various other 3D tools). At first, this was going to be developed into a game, but with some limitations, I decided to keep it as an animation. I decided to keep it at game-res, to retain the game-like ambience and fast rendering (also limited laptop spec)
The story will have a lot of allusion to my country’s folklore and tales; and for the first short, Timun Mas (Golden Cucumber) and Cindelaras. Of course, keep in mind that these are just allusion; I didn’t want this to be a re-telling of the aforementioned folklores.
My main tool is:
Blender -> setting up the scenes for final render (material, lights, etc), rigging & animating, high poly minor sculpting, minor retopo, creating baking cages, creating UV Map.
ZBrush -> high poly major sculpting
XNormal -> baking high-poly maps
Topogun -> major retopo
Photoshop -> painting textures
