Fire & Smoke

Hello, all. I know how to render fire and smoke animations. My problem is that I’m working on a rocket animation and I want to have fire and smoke coming out of the exhaust. Right now I have two separate particle emitters (1 for the fire and 1 for the smoke), but this doesn’t look right. Is there anyway to have one particle emitter for fire and have that fire “transform” into smoke over the life of the animation?

yes. If you add a spawning to the particles system, each child level can have a different material.

This is controlled through the Mult, Mat and CurMul buttons in the particles settings.

Just registered to say thanks theeth! I found this thread and the fire which I was trying to make looks great now, after spawning with a new material. Much better effect than with two emitters :slight_smile:
