Eek, I like more the ocean waves one.
Try using more particles.
BTW the ocean one looks like the one in many 3d movies. Well done.

and make them different textures. not all the same.

Agreed. More particles. You might want to try some variation in the color over time as well.
smaller and more particles, for the changing color: make them all orange, set them to “shaded” and place a yellow light in the middle of your fire. Hope this helps
