I’ve revisited one of my projects from a year ago and gave it an upgrade. Main image was rendered at 4K resolution. The showcase includes maximum zoom detail shots, comparison with my first try, breakdown test renders and an extra night-shot render at the end of the project. Thanks for watching and let me know what you think!

100% zoom

Awesome artwork!

Mr. Nevertilt could you please make this into a sweet little cartoon so it can be featured. We don’t want originality and complex textures they make our head hurt. Maybe a Mr Magoo picking a berry. That would be nice to feature nothing that pushes the envelope… Just wanna say that your creativity, original concept and hard work rocks!!! Keep it up you are a true artist.

I like this idea. And, it’s not another car or robot. The only thing that I would (personally) try to fix is the clarity of the berries. The floral area of the plant behind them is so clear, detailed and distinct that the berries seem out of focus by comparison. Or maybe it’s just that my eyes are getting old… Good work though.

Oh wow! Thanks a lot Bart!

this is just awesome!

Did you make those veins inside the lifeform procedural with the basic texture generators or with an image texture or did you model these or did you make them somehow differenT?

Hey Tuba! Thanks!

For the veins I’ve painted a Black/White map in photoshop then I’ve applied that in Blender to combine textures so the veins have different color from the rest of the body. + I’ve generated a normal map from that B/W image which I’ve combined into the bump for the main texture. Combining normal maps in Blender is super unclear for me, I still don’t understand how I did it, it was a lot of trial and error. I wish it was as easy as combining simple textures.

Hope this explains it, let me know if you have any other questions or something is unclear

Intersting shapes and shaders, like it! Cool colors
