first time poster :-)

Hey guys,

this is my first real image (after a few simple exercises to get familiar with the interface of this great software), so be gentil
I know it’s still kinda simple stuff, but hey, I gotta start somewhere, right
only thing I was thinking of adding, was maybe some smoke effect to the sigaret, but I had no idea how to do that
anybody got any ideas/suggestions?

It’s really interesting and nice, IMO.
The only thing I don’t like very much is the extreme perspective of the cigarette on the table.
To do the smoke, you could try with particles. There are several tutorial about it.

Very interesting work. I love the combination of the 2D & 3D. It works great.

I agree with env about the perspective on the cigarette.

i will agree with evn this cigerette looks huge. but it looks good.

the ashes of the cigerette look a little funny the look too round and not very flat. they need a little grey and white in them to give the color of cigerette ashes…

I tried using the noise texure, but apparently not enough
(and thx for the kind reactions)

I like the picture. One other thing that could be changed is how the glasses sit on the plane. IMO, i don’t think the glasses could sit on the plane like that without falling on the green square lens. Just a thought though.

Nice first real image.

nice style! I like it.
edges on the glasses are a bit harsh, but that’s how it always is in the beginning.

try to create some bevelling to them… perhaps the simple method :

that could help the light to actually hit the edges of objects… makes it look better…

Very nice start, nothing to add, really to comments

you bevel technique works well with models which have been made un-bevelled, but if you bevel all the faces of the cube the edges will be a little funny

this is what i do, but you have to model it from the start, unless you want to do some major vert pushing, but you wight as well re model it…
