hi!
this is my first traditional animation…

use a GIF animator.

no

why not?

a) it will loop your animation
b) it wont take half the time to download
c) it would be a heck of a lot easier to use

i diddnt mean to offend you, but it just seemed silly to have a .avi for such a small thing, that would look better looped anyways. but i suppose if you diddnt have the rest of the drawings…

cute ball.

ahh… you mean i should use gif as format…
Then you’re probably right… I thought u meant i should animate it with a gif-animator %|
cya henrik

woah, im confused now.

if you save each picture as a gif, you can just drag em into the gif animator, and set the framerate, then save it as an animated GIF.

I’d really like to get back into 2D animation more too, it’s heaps of fun.

Although i don’t like The Gimp’s interface, it has a really neat feature for animation, which lets you convert layers to frames in an animation sequence, play them back, etc. May want to look into it since it’s quite a nice way of working. Here’s a crappy little test anim I did with it: http://mke3.net:9000/misc/anitest.mov

Yeah, 2d animation rules
But u really need either a graphictablet or a good
digital camera…

Your animation is very nice, but the arm gets shorter to the end.
Did u draw it with a tablet?

cya henrik

Yeah with a wacom. Gimp is rather quirky with tablets though unfortunately (at least in Windows anyway) It’s not really meant to be anatomically accurate - just a test using gimp

It’s not so bad with a digital camera, especially if you have a digital video camera - you can set it up on a tripod and import via frame capture.

yeah, but those are very expensive :frowning:
