Brand new to Blender, have been used a number of tutorials to help me get this far. I was asked to create show a light product in a ceiling void for a brochure. So I am showing the plasterboard for the ceiling, wooden joists, fibre glass insulation, along with corkboard, plywood, underlay and laminate wood.
Each texture has a normal, displace, specular and occlusion map and I have UV unwrapped each of the objects.
Would love to know where I am going wrong or what I could approve? Any thoughts?
its looking good. You could try desaturating the colour on the two slats they look a tiny bit too much imo you could also try a bit of SSS on the fiberglass. its all very nearly there though.
Is that really the size of the light? From the ones that I’m familiar with putting in, it seems really small. Other than that, I’d say you’ve done a wonderful job!
Thanks very much for the feedback and the positive comments.
cooking glen - totally aggree on the slats, they look as if they have been varnished. I’m assuming the ‘SSS’ is subsurface scattering?
Xraygunner - It is to the correct scale it’s a new product about to come to market. Because of the new technology is will look small in comparison to traditional downlighters.
It looks great. I’m wondering if a little specularity might help on the wood. All the smooth wood surfaces I can find around me right now, even the unvarnished ones, have a slight degree of shininess.
