Fist blend: Lamp

HI. I’m new to Blender and 3d. I have been working with 3d for about 4 months. I started with Moonlight 3d (which is nearly as developed as Blender). I found Blender 2 months ago and have been using it ever since. I made this image to apply some things I had learned in some tutorials. Thankyou for any suggestions.

well, for your first .blend file, I’d say you did pretty well… when I made mine, all I had, was a plane, and a camera—
oh wait, those are default… anyway, good job! keep on blendin!

Very nice, especially for a first blend (my first is just embarrasing - a lot of bad bright colors! :stuck_out_tongue: ). My first suggestion is to apply subsurf to the lamp nacelle, and turn Halo Step on the spot lamp to about 8, so Suzanne will cast a semi-volumetric shadow. Again, a great first piece, please keep up with 3d!

Thanks for the comments guys! Thankyou, ray_theway, I try those suggestions.
