So i did this simple string animation just to make a count down. The problem is, the font has this overlapping issue. Someone pointed on another thread that you could simply chose another similar font and that fine. However, i was wondering if anyone have an actual solution to that, rather than a “turn around”.
The reason they suggest that, is becuase a lot of fonts are poorly created (internally), and structure the outlines in ways that Blender can’t cleanly work with.
Certainly, there are nodes you can add to any curve to manipulate things and clean them up or restructure them. But given that a font might have 255 different characters, this would become potentially an enormous amount of time and effort to redo per-character and per-font if needed.
So, yes - pick another font.
I was meaning if there is something on Blender that can be done about it. But I guess there isn’t ![]()
I’ve seen development notes that did regard trying to make blender work more cleanly with garbage fonts.
This may have been one of Harley’s efforts, but he’s left the blender team so I don’t know what the status on that would be.
But as far as a setting in blender you can click on that is going to make it work for you today – no, there is not one.
okay, thank you anyway ![]()
