Fixing .obj, .fbx or .dae model to include materials and textures

I need help in understanding how to properly import .obj (composed of multiple meshes) and apply materials and textures in Unity. It can progress to a paid job. I need to have a properly designed realistic humanoid 3D model, rigged with an idle animation and T-Pose that can be imported into Unity and to be bind to HTC vive trackers for full body motion tracking and to record Mocap into .bvh or .fbx formats.
A few Model formats are also desire like: .fbx, .dae (Collada), .3ds, .dxf, .obj, .vrm, https://vrm.dev/en/how_to_make_vrm/

Here is what I want to start from:

Hello There,

I can help you certainly for that Kindly Check PM

If I have a bunch of dds files, do you think I should use a dds to png convertor like and because default material is Shader - Standard which is read only
(https://answers.unity.com/questions/1462367/materials-are-grayed-out-cant-edit-them.html)
so create a new material and assign them to game objects from my model and assign Albedo adn Occlusion and whatever to get the same look and feel as
https://www.renderhub.com/rip-van-winkle/elena-from-uncharted-4
Is this the right approach. And as you said only when .dds are converted to .png I can attempt to programmatically assign values by file name.

Thanks Lisa. “Check PM” what does that mean? I didn’t receive any messages.
PM usually mean Private Message. If yes where is it?
Also you can see my more recent post where I consolidated my idea. This existing post is just a temporary problem I tried to solve
