that looks really sweet. btw – how did you create the flame effect?

WOW !!!
I love the flames ALOT, please, share with us the technics and also if it can be animated…

Cool flames (are they made with particles?). I’ve never gotten particle flames to look that good. The first thing that popped in my head is the lead to Fahrenheit 451:

Hopefully this won’t start a flamewar.
/me laughs hysterically at my own humor :stuck_out_tongue:

:o

I think you cought all the colours in a fire, I love it!

I don’t suppose it’s possible to get more (all) of the fire into the picture, is it? More centered. I don’t know, maybe just a little zoomed out? The focus seem to be on the background as it is now. I think it should be on the fire or perhaps on what is acctually burning.

Thanks for the replies

Yeah, there’s two reasons the compositions like it is. Firstly, i wanted the contrast between the flames and the dark parchment (at least, it’s supposed to be parchment :stuck_out_tongue: ), so lots of space and secondly (and most importantly) the top of the flames don’t look to good!
But i’ll definately try some alternatives. 8)

magic… well ok maybe not.

It’s all mainly textures, the flames are a roughly cylindrical shape, basically created a mesh the same shape as the hole in the paper and then extrude and deform away. The texture itself i put together from a couple of particle effects, comp’ed in Photoshop and heavily modified

Final comp in Photoshop, with some subtle motion blur and hot air refraction added, although the pure Blender render is pretty much the same.
As to whether it can be animated…in theory i guess, using animated textures and RVK’s or something to distort the mesh? Might try that at some point…

phew, sorry for the ramble, must sleep now…

cheers

wow look very good! well except the top…look a bit pixelated there…anyway very good work!

PS:is that a programation parchment??? :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks really cool, although I think the flames look like they’re full of squares, but maybe it’s just me. A very cool image.

Goo

Very nice flame effect!

Looks like really hot flames

Stefano

I prefer the effect as it is, it follows the lines of interest with the title and the flame.

IMO, the flame looks great just the way it is.

YEAH!!! burn, bitch, burn!! :< :stuck_out_tongue:

on a more serious note - i really like the flame fx, howd you make em? :o
