Flaming plane with smoke?

Hey, fellow blenderheads! Again, I have yet another problem with a project. I’m not a complete noob with particle physics, but the new system kinda startled me a little. I’m trying to make a plane burn and produce smoke, but it doesn’t have to track a path (i.e. turning doesn’t have to make the smoke look real and not turn with the plane, I don’t need that). However, my particles all look like halos, and the halo option is turned off! So, before I learn how to make smoke and fire, I need to fix that…
