I’ve been making a copy of flappy bird in blender, I thought that the entire game concept was pretty simple and it would be a fun thing to do over a short period of time.
It’s pretty simple and I’m not sure what else to do finished yet, below the download you will find a to-do list and controls etc.
The texture for the score counter doesn’t work properly for me, it displays small pieces of what I think are numbers and they’re sideways?
I personally would remove the vignette blur and add more cheerful music and brighter lighting, other than those things the game is spot on. Well done!
Works great for me on Linux Mint. I noticed that you made this with logic bricks only and no Python, so this game would probably work on Android devices with GameKit. You’d just have to change the Keyboard sensor to a Mouse: Left Click sensor (to detect touch screen taps).
Nice work, it’s a good copy. I like the style too.
I think it’s too easy though. Flappy Bird is much harder. (Faster, more gravity, ‘quicker’ jumping). Good luck with this.
Except that Flappy Wings would be auto-rejected from the app. store due to a new Google policy regarding Flappy Bird clones.
Bubble in Trouble wouldn’t be affected though (theoretically). It seems like so many people only care about cloning the original as close as possible and not putting an ounce of new stuff in the majority of clones (not even basic things like splits in the path, animated obstacles, or extra-wide flying space).
