-Contrast couldn’t really be changed without losing a large area to black
-Three spotlamps with soft shadows used for depth perception
-Flat style used, something more origional then buildings
-Uploaded this twice before, but both times saw an artifact with a small area of the hats so it needed fixing.
You know what Cyborg ?
This is the first time i reply to your posts and i usually dont really like your pictures.
(I cant say i prefer mine : i havent really done any !)
But this one surprised me ! And i like it !
I’m starting to like this flat style of yours more and more, although I think that the dragon could go :(, I like this image a lot for some reason :spin:.
Good job, 3 stars.
They’re like top hats, flatten a top hat and it wouldn’t look too different. You know the kind of hat the guy who represents the game Monopoly wears. I noticed there’s some difference, but not too much.
Well top hats may not have much definition if they’re flattened, but 3D hats would conflict with the style. When doing a style like this closed shapes usually won’t fit well.
I remember in an early school year we made pilgrim hats, the overall flat shape we cut out was about the same as what’s in the picture.
It’s not the technique, it’s the effort… you’ve made an object out of 3 faces, spread it across the inside of a cube, created a dragon and called it a finished piece…
There’s not even a cube in the whole scene. You seem to be making some guesses that aren’t neccesarily true.
Look at the first two who replied they liked it for what it is over how it was made. Artwork should be judged on the finished result, not how it was made.
Why do you always have a dragon’s arm pose like that? It just… wouldn’t work. The wrist seems to be coming out of the side of his hand?
You could probably really speed up render time by turning raytracing off. Yes, I know that you like to use AO, but it can be faked with buffered spotlights dupliverted to an icosphere.
Artwork should be judged on the finished result, not how it was made.
Okay then, don’t post the technical details.
And why, oh why, would a dragon be in a black world surrounded by top hats?
Then I still won’t like it, because it’s really nothing. All I see is black and white stripes flying all arround and a huge blue-ish dragon in the middle, I’m very sorry >_>
I like this one, it’s comic, funny! (I hope it was intended to be) There is somethings I’d like to crit though (no biggie) Some of the hats are lying piled on top of eachother without any rotation, looks a bit wierd. And I think this would do alot better without the shadow, more like plain-cartoon (I may be wrong) I’m giving it three stars (Cause I know you’re an star addict) And pray to god that your next image will be none 2D-style, cause I realy liked the last piece (I think it was) you made the “normal” way
