Okay did something in this flat style that looks like it’ll have a bit more ‘point’ then the hats. Unfortunately no Dragons, as you thought that was old. And none of the same mesh copied all over.
Buffer shadows again help with the perception of depth. And I know [Kothe] would like me to make new images the normal way but that’ll be for 2.44 (which is just around the corner) so I can use the new SSS.
Everything is made from flat objects, even the wall was made by arranging flat objects in a pattern then using the P.E. tool to curve it.
I’m not going to comment… I’m just going to sit here and wait for the first people to come and notice that none of the paper folks are wearing any pants…
How could nudity exist on paper people? As long as they don’t include the you-know-whats in the meshes. Besides, Donald Duck doesn’t wear pants.
To me that is almost an invitation to make a graphic demonstration on how paper people can have nudity, luckily I’m too lazy to do such a thing And if they do not include genitals it’s supposed to be called ‘mild nudity’ or something…
but on a more serious note, I like the colours but it still misses something… mainly detail I guess, but it is an improvement, certainly concerning your previous work…
StompinTom: Yes I guess you could say that, same with all images in this flat style. And the nudity definition, they do have shirts, so you could say they’re at least half clothed.
Sandrew: At least you like it better then the hats.
PapaSmurf: I could’ve guessed you were joking, but sometimes I don’t get jokes too well.
Well i disagree with Microwave and Jeepster: i think your images are much more attrative since you took that “flatness” direction. Id like to see that particular piece devellop into an animation where we could see those frantic people moving…
CD: you should move one of the arms and one of the legs of each person behind the main body segment. As they are right now is a little confusing visually.
I like the image. The shadows in particular make it feel like a good render. The only thing I don’t like is the people- They’re just a little too simple. I still have to think on a rating, so I’ll get back to you on that.
Wert: I’m not sure if it requires much of a tutorial, just follow these tips.
1). All meshes of any shape generally lack depth, they can be rotated and such if neccesary but that’s it. Some may have partial shapes or curves but not be closed.
2). Spotlights with very soft buffer shadows are used to give depth perception, and more for that then realism.
3). Avoid textures, for added detail add new faces.
