Imho, it doesn’t give the hippies feel. I would use diferent colr. Blue, oragee, red, yesllow shrugs

edited- more brigth and live. Your’s are… gray? Hah. Sorry. It’s just how I feel with them

yeah, it’s more a pastel color than anything. also much too complex for hippies.
maybe more surfer? anyway thanks for the crits, i cannot seem to reproduce the lined painted feel once I start fooling around with the color more. Just another example of the variety of things you can do with materials. in a different than usual style.

PS. grey? what BW monitor?

By grey I meaned… ugh… you know…
While english isn’t my 1st language I have problems with proper expresion of my thoughts

Grey was just metafore. Yeah, that’s it, a metafore

Hey, I like it
It’s indeed not very hippie, but it’s great to see what colorbands can do. I love colorbands anyway. Great for making procedural wood textures

did you take mushrooms when you did it? It’s good

When he says ‘grey’ he might mean ‘desaturated’

Nebular > By grey I meaned… ugh… you know…

it does lack some definition (blends together) in areas. I tried adding toon outlines but it spoiled the look.

Thanks, the colorbands in blender are very powerful, often overlooked.

eaglebreath > did you take mushrooms when you did it? It’s good:)

Thanks, I am sorting through my comp and I found this one, I have only a hazy memory of creating it… Shell Factory Script, subsurf, subdivide, set smooth then either the push/pull or warp transform tools.

BlackBoe > When he says ‘grey’ he might mean ‘desaturated’

Thanks, yes thats it. It does look quite washed out, I even searched ‘desaturated’ and thats a great description.

now thats a material I like, could you supply the blend file please?

I once made an image using a procedural circuit board material with the aid of colorbands, used all the colorband channels Blender could support at the time.

It’s pretty nice for a simple image, colorbands can do a lot of things.

nice effect, but… makes me want to vomit.

Looks to me like the rainbow effect on some cheap holograms or wrapping papers. Realy cool though, I still have trouble with ramp application… hmmm.
