Fluffy Alias Monster Toy - a Blender appreciation project

As we were learning Alias Sub-D modeling, and one of the exercise was modeling this little monster, but if you know anything about Alias is that IT IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT…

so i tried to at least make the monster cute and just enjoy creating things in Blender cause I miss that…

The process involves hair particle system, weight paint, texture paint and little more, it was a very brief one just to appreciate the wonderfulness of working in Blender.

Can’t imagine Alias being right or comfortable tool for SubD modeling. Why won’t they simply adobt Blender and teach that instead of paid software? Is that an age thing?

Sadly the surface quality and control of Alias are still the best there is, and frankly, I frustratedly have to admit, some tools like vertex alignment in Alias Sub-D are quite useful, in Blender I suck at sub-d modeling without them

You’re on the #featured row! :+1:

Now I come to you and slap you, You use Alias to do that?

Seriously, I’ve read that you are learning to use subdivision surfaces, and the final rendered result looks real.

Compliments!

EDIT: if don’t know there is also this add-on
