Was following up on this nice tutorial:


and when I went to create mine, put two pipes in same domain.
It works, but the water also comes out the sides of the pipes.
The subsurf modifier was applied to the pipes, at the domain the resolution is 140.
It should work, but doesnt’ look pretty at all.
I was also trying to make at least one of the balls, the yellow one react to the water and float. Played with the collision settings. did not seem to have worked.
Any advice please?

Ouch 57…sounds like it was a tough weekend.
Good luck w/the plumbing, glad mine are digital pipe issues.

Also I wonder. Should I have put each pipe with its own separate domain?

No, that is not the issue.

First you need more divisions, then when you are done baking, scale the pipes a little bigger around the water. Also be sure to add some smoothing.

Still sucks.
Had started over. plenty of subdivs. had three pipes and respective fluid inflow sources. All in one domain. Don’t think blender liked it as it crashed several times.
It baked w/two pipes.And did add the smooth modifier to the water, applied it. Tried your suggestion and enlarged the solidify modifier on the pipes to make them larger…
it all still looks pretty ugly.

Why does the water have to go through the pipe? Looking at your image, could the flow object not be right at the pipe hole?

How many subdivisions are you using? It does look better than when you started, but you could get it perfect I think.

57, if you look at my initial post I have a link to a quick tutorial that made it look like a snap.
So it is a learning experience for me. and the pipes are transparent so ideally you should see the fluid flow trough it.
