Fluid Domain Button Kills Blender

I am trying to add some fluids to an Anim but when i select the object to be the domain, blender crash. When i press the domain button blender crashes giving a Segmentation Fault error in the console.
I can still select an object and make it the fuild and blender continues work, but as soon as i press the Domain button, Blender just dies on me.

I tried a search, but have come up with nothing, so far. Some help would be nice.

what are the spec for compiling blender with the capability for fluid sims.

I am trying this on CVS latest build, but works fine on the 2.42 BF build but not on the BF compiled source.
BF build feature does Work
BF compile source build feature does NOT work
CVS build feature does NOT work.

Using Slackware 11.0
