No matter what settings I fiddle with my obstacles never seem to interact in the way I intend. A glass for example doesn’t fill with water. But the water just flows over the top.
Another thing I attempted was a subdivided plane with a rift cut in it. The water refused to enter this valley as well.
What am I doing wrong?
A point to up to date fluid tutorials would go down well. I can do the rest fine. Just obstacles seem to be the issue.
Set your fluid resolution to at least 100, the higher the better. Set it as high as your computer can handle. (For me this is 250.) Use lower resolutions for previews, and set it high for a final animation.
sounds like a res issue. If you have a large domain then the resulotion will need to be exesivly high. Like over 1000 which would need many gigs of ram. So reduce the size of the domain to about the size of the cup for example. Also if you want fetures across large scales then you also need very high resoluctions
