I have had success making an experimental fluid sim with the basic “domain, fluid, and obstacle” set up, but now i want to actually make use of it.
Basically, all i need is for the fluid to dump out of the bucket via fluid sim. The bucket has a basic animation, and i have removed every possible variable in the blend file.
I have tried resetting everything’s scale, recalculating normals, and removing doubles with no success.
Can anyone get this working and explain what was wrong?
Hey, gun… your problem is that your domain is way too big for the “size” of your fluid and your settings. Try removing the “domain” setting off of your walls and add another, much smaller domain around the pail and where you want the fluid to go. That should work for you. Remember.
That makes sense, but i will only know that after i bake it (which takes a while) and view it once. Sounds like a lot of trial and error as the fluid can be quite unpredictable.
Is there any way that i can “kill” the fluid as it hits something, like the ground? That way i can predict it a lot easier
