Fluid Simulation transitions?

Ive been working on a project which includes a little character which is made of a rubber/tacky substance.

Ive been trying to get the character to imerse from a blob, by doing a reverse fluid simulation, but I would like to get my character to run after he has risen. Would I have to do this is a separate scene?



Just do it in another layer. When the character has fully formed, animate the fluid object to a hidden layer and animate the rigged object to the layer with the camera.
