Hello, fellow artists.
A few months ago I tried to find a nice bath foam shader and it was very difficult.
I didn’t find any documentation or tutorial on how to do it.
I found a material to buy which has nothing wrong with it, on the contrary, it looks very beautiful, but it didn’t help me.
So, after a lot of trying and failure, gonna share a simple (and maybe not that great) foam shader that I did.
foam.blend (978.4 KB)
- Foam Color: Controls the color of the foam (duh…)
- Volume Shadow Color: Controls the part of the foam that it’s not reached by your lights. (you can zero the value if you want to disable it.)
- Internal Bubbles Size: Size of the bubbles you see inside of the volume
- Foam Intensity: How THICC and dense is the foam
- Foam Anisotropy: Controls the how the foam behaves in the light.
You’ll, probably, have the tweaks things until it’s good enough in your scene. (and a particle system with secondary bubbles will help it too.)
I used the same shader for this following pieces.
Again, it’s far from a perfect foam shader, but I hope this help you a little.
Cheers, mates.
