This is my latest project, an (almost) fully rigged, textures, and posed Spartan Warrior. He is a sculptris sculpted makehuman base, with everything else made by me. (The face isn’t rigged yet, but will be soon, to make an angry yell face) I will post more images soon.
Another image with a background, I just sculpted a plane in Sculptris and then made normal and color maps for it. Please tell me what you think!

Well it looks good mate…
Some advice though…
Maybe add a thin chain or leather strap to connect the two ends of the cloak under his kneck.
Maybe make the pants a little less thick.
Maybe add some sort of sky?
Also the ground is red and so is the cloak which makes it hard to see the two.
I would put a little more time into the ground and possibly change the colour too.
But other than that, good job and well done.
I didn’t like the way the background washed out the colors so I decided to go without it. Also, I thinned the pants a little and added a gold chain type thing to the cloak.

^^^I think when PorkFist said to thin the pants he meant to make the cloth thinner. Not to make it more… skimpy. I think it looks a bit too much like a speedo now. My only other suggestion is to make the red hair on his helmet a little less intense. Looks like the emit is set way up or something. Otherwise a fine model and I cant wait to see it finished! Good luck!
I think the sky background is good, but there are a couple of ways you can improve it. I made a screenshot of some alternative settings, and also note, that you can’t see the texture and input panel settings, but I increased the Y scale value to make things a bit more horizontal.
It looks good, but I think if that guy goes into battle, he’s gonna get killed pretty quickly Then again, I haven’t researched it much. But I think that they would be smart enough to wear additional armor before fighting.
the spartans didn’t tend to wear much armor, if I recall correctly. but they were quite successful as warriors. perhaps they valued the enhanced mobility more than the protection. One of their major defeats came when they were trapped out in the open, due to an accidental fire, and they were easily picked off with arrows.
Well thank you all for the input, but due to the relatively low quality of work I did on this piece I have decided to move on. I have learned a lot about materials and lighting and am now putting that knowledge towards my next project! (to be posed soon)
