Forearm twist

Hey guys,

I’m going to make this short and sweet. Does anyone know how to make a decent forearm twist rig that bypasses blender’s rotation limit? Basically with drivers/ constraints, if you rotate past a certain point, the bones will flip and I dont know how to adjust the bones to counter this.


I don’t know if you need to bypass limitations with twists. By that I mean they should only be partial.

Danpro did some good videos regarding rigify that include some basic skinning tips. He shows a way of approaching a forearm twist and the weighting involved nearer the end of the video. That might provide some insight.

Well the issues I’m facing is if the parent bone exceeds 180 degrees, no matter what, the child bone that is under the constraint will flip out. I think I found a solution that doesnt involve any rotation constraints though. Next time I think I’m just going to stick to Rigify, haha. Thank you for the link :slight_smile:
