Forest path scene work in progress thread - Blender 3D environments course

Thank you for your feedback.

Oh, awesome! I looked up the course and it is on sale right now so I signed up! I’m in the middle of a zillion others right now too so I’ll probably start a bit later LOL.

In my opinion it’s a really good course, I think you will enjoy it.
Udemy almost always seems to have some deal on for new and existing users, my advice is to just put any course you want on your wishlist and then they send you a notification when it goes on sale.

Hello,
I have been working more on this scene, it is now very nearly done.
I have added some more fog in the lower part using principled volume and some noise textures (pictured below).

I have also worked more on the lighting and scattering the rocks along the path. I also have lowered the plane that has the distance trees on, this hides the orange terrain you could see in previous renders, whilst still allowing the trees to have different heights.

All I want to do now is work a bit more on the lighting, then I will render the final animation (this has the leaves of the trees moving and the grass moving in the wind).
Here is the latest render:

Hey this is looking great! But the trees in the foreground have something weird going on with the shader I would go back to that video where rob showed us how to set it up and see if there is a setting that needs to be tweaked.
But other than that I like yours a lot!

To me the trees in the background look fine, I did use a different tree model to the one he used since I thought it looked better, that might be the issue. Do you mind pointing out where it is visible, I don’t seem to be able to see it.

Do you mean this tree here, it might have a slight issue, I will take a look.

Yes i meant there and on the other one as well, it seeams like the texture transitions to harshly but if they arent from the coarse then maybe try to blend a little more

Thank you for your feedback, I am going to take a look at this and see if I can get this solved.

You’re welcome and wish you well!

Thank you, I think I just need to adjust the vertex paint slightly and that should solve it.

Sweet That should be pretty easy

Not sure what’s happening here, looking at them in the material preview whilst in the isolated view they seem to look alright. I assume it must be to do with the lighting.
I have tried adjusting the vertex paint but it seems to make it look worse…

Oh dear i will look at mine and see if i can figure out what’s going on…

Have you applied scale? sometimes not applying that could cause texture issues.

Thank you.

I have tried applying the rotation and scale but that doesn’t seem to have helped, it still looks like this:

Looks nice so far, only the little flowers are a bit to bright, compared to the grass. And i would make the fog less dense and a bit more blueish.

Thak you for your feedback, I really appreciate it (especially before I have rendered the final animation, after that it’s hard to make edits since I will not want to render it again as it will take a long time).
I am going to adjust the fog, for the flowers are you talking about the white ones and the yellow ones, I am going to see what I can do.

I think both are too bright, usually it helps to make only the diffuse darker, but leave the translucency as is.
