Well, i am moving right now and since i got nothing to do and my desktop is in a box, here is what i came up with a days work on my laptop and a fork :
Please leave the fork on the counter, i know you want to pick it up but please dont
Thanks for the tips guys. Made the changes and it looks much more realistic. Ill have to see what it gives with yafray, ill learn how do use it (never tryied it) . I wasnt very pleased with the bump map of the original (LoL made in paint cause i hadnt installed gimp on this laptop yet) so i installed gimp and redid it. I went for a more less reflective steel look as you guys said. The black marble is different too
I’ll probably be making a plate and a glass and it would be Breakfast on a kitchen counter. Ill see what i can do.
I like the first image more than the second. Now the fork looks out of place. In the first image I tried to look for inconsistancies but I couldn’t find none right away. They reflection on the counter suggest a bright point light which you can see in the shadow of the fork. The shadow area is well lit and it is sharp as is should. The reflection of the fork could have show just a little of the counter in my opinion, but it looks physacaly ok to me (for now). I like the dof. What is it? An image blurred in photoshop and used as a background image in the render?
Yes, i do like the first image better . I will try to get a thrid one that is between both of them. I only have to change the reflection options.
I change the lighting a bit so it seems more ambient.
For the DoF effect i first tried using a tutorial in the blender 2.3 guide but that didnt work out to well for this scene. So i put a vertical plane with a blured texture as you said.
One more is coming… thanks again for the comments)
There is also another way to use DOF, but this method is dificult to setup, but renders very fast. I will post a link later or google Caronte + dof. I tried it once and it works like a charm!
I will post a link to the Work in progress section where i will post a topic title Breakfast on a Kichen counter where i will try well to model just that. I am please with the setting i made and the fork and will model some more objet for the scene.
hmm… i like your modeling; very nice to look at. though, it doesn’t quite look photorealistic. i think it kind of resembles a painting, which creates a very cool effect. I would keep the painted look!
