Hello All -
I’m trying to make a fox tail that is orange with a yellow tip. I can accomplish this in a still, but if I move the bones for a pose, the color doesn’t map anymore.
Well the color maps for the MESH, but not for the particles. Here’s some pics to show what I mean (I used something simple to keep the picture size small)
A) Here’s the tail with the bones in ‘rest’ pose. All good.
B) Here’s the same tail in ‘rest’ pose, with particles turned off. You can see the texture matches the particles. Good.
C) Now I pose the tail using the armature. The texture follows the pose. That’s good.
D) But the particles no longer reflect the pose. The yellow tip isn’t there!
In the Objects-Physics-Particles window, I have the “Display” set to the right material.
What am I missing here?
Also, the particles emit from the face and vertices (as they should) and that results in the ‘furry’ tail looking like it has boxy parts. Is there a way to make the particles emit from the subsurf? Or do I just have to apply the subsurf and have more vertices (which wouldn’t be the end of the world, actually)?
Thanks in advance.
/Grim
PS For the texture, I used an image map, attached.
