Frame Counter - Time Counter -Updated 11/19

Here is something I made for myself - Maybe you will find it useful as well. It is a renderable frame counter and time counter (30 fps).

11/19/03 - Updated file to fix appending problem and added 25fps counter with Time IPO explanation

Elysiun search words: time counter, odometer, frame counter, frames per second, clock, Time IPO

?

So what does it do? Is it for Blender or what? I can’t download anything right now…

“What does it do”

The are like little animated frame odometers. They will animate to display the current frame and frame time. Useful for testing, useful for what I am doing, perhaps someone else has a script which will print this info on a rendered fram, if so, I would like to see it. I parented a pair of these to my camera and I get time stamped renders. Of course, i moved the counters to the corners first.

cool! i like the ol’ mechanical approach

guess what you could do if blender had something like ‘collision constraint’

you could really build a real counter. mechanical.

That’s neat. Would be useful for lipsync.

Thanks for sharing. That’s a handy tool. Is there an easy way to change it and make it work at a different frame rate? I guess I could scale the IPO’s for each digit, but maybe there’s an easier way? Thanks mthoenes.

I have scaled the time indicater to 12.5fps and 25fps by adding a time IPO for the wheels. Just need to make one then copy and paste to the others. Scaling the ipos could get tricky. The time IPO is really handy for this kind of stuff.

This is really great. Thank you mthoenes for such a useful tool.
