Framework 16 Laptop product visualization

I just finished another project from CG Cookie’s Sessions Vol. 1–this time from the macro side of things with their laptop project. I’ve been anticipating the Framework 16 laptop for about 7 months since the preorders opened for the machine last year. To tide me over, I’ve spent some time to try to recreate the laptop to scale, with sizes from people lucky enough to be in batches 1-3 who already have this laptop in their hands.

This course was a great one and really walked me through the process from modeling and texturing, to animation. The instructor, @theLuthier, gave me all the tools I needed to riff from his concept and model my own Framework 16. I had never done hard surface modeling before, so learning about boolean cuts and the like was a great journey. This project was rendered in Eevee.

I’ve created a second animation showing some clay and wireframes as my attempt of a ‘behind the scenes.’ Thanks for reading!

Thank you Kent! It was a great project and I’ve learned a lot. I appreciate you expanding this project to be a little longer than the others in the Sessions course.
