Hi,

 I would like to work on a small animation shot. Can anyone suggest a  good free functional rig (with facials) for the version 2.77 ?

I think Rigify Pitchipoy and Blendrig are the two most popular at the moment. However, both of them require a good knowledge of how rigs work in order to use them properly. Anything simpler and you’re better off building your own.

Go to blendswap.com. Lots of free rigs. I’ll suggest CGCookie’s Flex Rig if you want a professional rig with facial controls.
