FreealityParts1-10*715 Dominoes**UPDATE* The newest piece...

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/4359/thecity0001po3.jpg

My Most Recent piece of finished work, Part I of a collection of pieces all related to Freeality: The freedom of a Reality of Creativity. Its obviously a low poly set, a style I occasionaly dip my feet in. I use Super shallow DoF( a sinature move for me ;P) to give it a tiny but hugelook, the seeming size of the set adds to the feeling.
All C&C welcome, thanks for cheking this out…

WOW, never seen a city that big yet sooooooooo…soooooooo…um… …small!:stuck_out_tongue: Great work! Now add some color!

ha, i was shooting for a black and white ish look. stay tuned for part II, i promise more color…

sry, double post, be sure to vote on my thread( i have dreams of the gallery!)

Did you use a mirror? I can see the plane from different angles in the back. It’s kinda weird. But it’s not bad at all!

no, actually i kept rendering the picture, and making the picture my texture. If it wasnt blurred, youd be able to see that it goes on forever…

Ok, i’ve seen quite a few renders with that sort of tone, how do you get them like that?

Yayfray?
What colour lights?
How do you get that black, almost over cooked toast shadow or whatever it is just around the windows?
Do they have any materials or just that grey that comes naturally?
Do you just use one big spot or a hemi or what?

Thanks, I shall continue my quest:D, i’m still new…

The blur in the DOF doesn’t grow gradually, it just appears suddenly making it looks fake.

Mel Gibson: The render settings are simple. Blender internal, with AO set to 5, both, sub. The material is a blusih color, no spec wutsoever, and translucancy all the way up. One sun with ray shadows…and thats all

Thx lubrio, i actually noticed that, ive been screwing with the nodes, trying to figure out how to make the transitions slower(a problem with my map value settings i think) thx for the constructive crits.

Once more with higher AO settings and it would really be great. Ya know, If I remember right your one of our younger members right? If that is the case, I must say that you real sense of knowing the overall look of your picture, rather your concept of the composite shot is very impressive.

thanks very much, thats a big compliment framedworld! I actually set the AO lower, cause I love that grainy look(in stills), but as per request, ill post one with higher AO(prob 10, sometimes blender crashes when i run higher, i need to update my graphics card). Once again, thanks.

And Ill be posting the next piece of work(im making a series) on this thread later today…more color, as promised!

peace all, thx for taking time to check this out…

PS, yeah. Im actually 13 ,Framedworld, 14 in a few months…

actually, rendering relies a lot on your processor, what you neen is more RAM

well, my ram isnt the problem(ive got 1024 ram) I think ur right tho, the renders just eat up my processor(its an old pentium 4, 2.0 ghz). Yeah, iguess graphics card isnt the problem…tho i should update it…its crappy ‘intel integrated graphics’…

Alright, the next addition to this collection…

Obviously, their the same shot, one with a lower AO energy setting.
All C&C welcme, thx for taking time to look…

Love the last two!! The second one has so much character. Reminds me of that game Nevernights or whatever it was called. The claymation one.

The last one has a great feel to it. I can really feel the space within the picture.

Very well done. I enjoy your work!!

It’s the Neverhood, and that game ruled.

Yeah, I like the second one, except I’d have to say that the stones around the fountain look a little fake. I mean, I know it is actually a fake place, but the stones look faker. The shadows are too black and concentrated, maybe, with not enough light and shadow interaction with the world around it. The rest of it and the whole design is really cool, though. And I like the box thing, it’s kinda neat.

yeah, the second one had shadow problems(and i was having trouble with that rock texture)
Never heard of Neverhood, but thanks everyone for the c&c.

more to come soon…

wow, how did you make that last one? with the red box? Amazing. Great DOF
