Hello, I have this model that I’m trying to get so that it has an entire freestyle contour around it, but when I render it, the freestyle simply does not appear, I have messed with every possible option, and I’m not really sure why is not rendering it.
I’ll leave here my images, I’ll send a link to my blender file if anyone wants to check it since I really don’t know where else to look.
For the project I’m doing I need to rely on freestyle, If I switch to grease pencil it’ll ruin the current workflow, so If you have any possible solutions for freestyle I’d appreciate it.
Blender can sometimes open files from newer versions right? Its worth a shot just trying to open it raw in 2.8. I’ve never tried more than a couple versions difference (3.4 to 3.3 or whatever) but if not, you may have to export as a .fbx or something as an intermediate.
If the same file does open in 2.8, I would make sure to save it separately in 2.8, just incase it does something funky down the line.
I can’t drop my Blender version because of some of the addons Im using, I guess my only option at the moment seems to switch to grease pencil and shift my entire workflow around it if I want to keep what I have from my work.
Is grease pencil relatively similar to freestyle? I prefered the simplicity of the latter but I’ll work around and see.
According to screen captures, shown settings should work.
The issue must be about what is hidden.
If rendered meshes inside Model collection are outside Body collection, that would be normal for Freestyle to exclude them.
If compositing used as Composite mention in Render Window, consists in eroding render, that would also be normal to lost contour.
If Line Set alpha is null, that would be a normal result.
Using Grease Pencil Line Art should be easy, in this case.
If meshes are in collection, you just need to add a Grease Pencil objet → Collection Line Art, tweak Line Radius and Edge Types in Line Art modifier and color in GP material.
Result should be immediately visible in Viewport.
